Run the 'RunMe.bat' (Double click on it), wait, you have now a ttsystem and a ttsystem.old, copy the file named 'ttsystem' back to your Memory Card.
Done that made a folder called 2 and copied all into then i copied the file from the TomTom SD card called ttsystem into this folder then i clicked on RunMe.bat and i get a couple of errors. the first says gzip.exe has encountered a problem, i click dont send then Patcher.exe has encountered a problem and i click dont send then i get gzip.exe again and in the folder i have 2 new files ttsystem and ttsystem.old, ttsystem is only 64 bytes seems small.
I then copied all the files from the new map into the map folder on the SD card and deleted all the old ones. I also copied the meta.txt into that folder and also in the root dir. Then tried to reboot and nothing. I am using XPSP2 could there be a problem there and am i doing all the right way. wasnt sure where you put the meta.txt file and where to put the map folder as well. And is this compatible with my Version of TomTom. |
Had no problem patching and installing the new v7 maps on my one XL.
looks like you Patched the maps for v700 correctly.
You then need to copy the Australia_Map_v700.1491 folder over to your tomtom. Do not overwrite your existing Maps folder. You should now have 2 map folders. Australia and Australia_Map_v700.1491 on your tomtom.
The ttsystem file from my v7.162 (one xl) is 5.51mb patched in size.
Looks like your patched ttsystem file is corrupt or was unable to find the ttsystem file to be patched.
Try this.
Copy the file TTSYSTEM.OLD (should be about 5mb) to your hard drive and rename it ttsystem. Then copy it back to your tomtom overwrite the exising ttsystem file. Reboot and see if your TT is booting up correctly.
Then just copy the TTSYSTEM file to the folder on your HDD containing the patch files. (from patch.zip). (6 files + TTSYSTEM file) Then execute the runme.bat file). Once patched copy the newly created TTSYSTEM & TTSYSTEM.old back to your tomtom and overwrite the existing files.
If everything worked fine, you should be greeted with TOMTOM asking to choose a map (if your current map has been removed).
Also delete the cspeech_AUS.dat file from the maps folder, they just contain the text to speech files and are not needed on the one series
