Default Can you reset a W2K domain account password on local machine (when offline)

I've got a problem with my work laptop that our IT guys couldn't fix.

Here is the history:
> I imaged my laptop HDD in January, saving the image file to my home network
> Over the weekend, I was unable to connect to the work network remotely, so I (foolishly) restored the image to my laptop
> I could then logon remotely using my *OLD* password (ie. the password from January)
> I've gone into work today and when connecting my lappy via lan cable to the network, I am unable to logon correctly.

The only way I can access the network is to pull out the lan cable, logon (in 'offline' mode) using the *OLD* password then reconnect the lan cable. I can access the network but have to re-enter my current password for access to Outlook, etc

What I think has happened is that my laptop has stored the *OLD* password loocally but when I'm connected to the lan at work it's wanting me to enter the current password. As the two are different passwords, I think they somehow corrupt each other.

So my question is ... is there a way to change/reset the domain password stored on my lappy? (ie. the 'local' domain password when I'm not connected to the office)
