Personally i can't fault kaspersky, extremely light on the resources and seems to catch most things and isn't intrusive. 7$ for a years subscription from ebay....about the only legit software i have.
I have mcaffee security center on another computer, it is more resource hungry than kaspersky (and previous mcaffee software), but it is free and seems to do a good job.
A lot of people recommend nod32, i think the FBI is/were using this as their scanning software...
Norton - have had a lot of bad experiences with it, very sluggish and poor performance and far too intrusive and a bitch to uninstall in some circumstances. Note, my experiences are limited to home versions of norton, i have heard that server/corporate versions are another beast (pretty good) altogether.
