| 2007 NRL Tipping Champion | I have cable from tel*. I recently brought a wireless VOIP router from my VOIP service provider and managed to connect my desktop and laptops successfully. Currently I also have a land line (with tel*). When I try and connect a new phone to the router I do not get a dial tone (needless to say I cannot make a call) I took my wireless VOIP router to my office and tested it, the phone works perfectly. Does anyone have this type of set up? Has tel* done something so that I will only have to make calls through land lines? Is there problems with the cable speeds? Appreciate any help on this Supertrek |

| Premium Member | I consider cable to be the best for VOIP for several reasons, 1/ You can get rid of your landline all together if you have a DID service 2/ Cable gives less echo In my work I install quite a few services and cable works be for me I use FreeCall - Your VoIP Solutions Provider - Australia's Most Innovative Broadband Telephony Provider they have good info on how to set your router up so have a look their call rate is only 1 cent a minute and the support is great if you put me (Mal) as your referral they will make sure you are looked after |
