Default Which homes have internet?

Hi guys,

I'm doing a bit of research and survey and am wondering if there is a way to find out which homes have internet connections in Melbourne? or which areas have the highest number of internet connections.

I don't know where to start, maybe a direct approach would be best otherwise. But it would have been a lot easier if there was some database where I could have found something.

Any ideas?

Cheers

Internet use:

34% of the Melbourne population aged 5 years or older used the internet at home in the week before census night and nearly 60% of these people were aged less than 35 years. People attending school or undertaking tertiary studies comprised 38% of all internet users.

After a certain number of years ABS (Bureau of Stats) post them free, but if you need stats from the most recent survey I think you can buy a copy.

Ask Whingepool!! - All you'd get from that lot are complaints that their internet is too slow or they've been capped for exceeding their 500GB download limit.

whirlpool is a good idea, except thats a forum for "geeks" and as such will not be reflective of the data you seek.

whirpool will only consist of people that are connected and a member of it. which will not really show how many homes are connected in melbourne example, a friend lives in melbourne AND he is not a whirlpool member

in fact I'd assume if they gave you the data, it would say something like out of our 200,000 members, 25% come from melbourne which is not really a true representation of the connections in melbourne only of there membership it might be helpful to know which 25% are located where and then extrapolated out perhaps

edit: statistics are a funny thing... if your doing some academic research perhaps contacting the telco's themselves, if you got the data from the top 3, you might have a fair representation to you question
