    Default grease nipples

Hello all, this relates to my new "bad boy" zero turn ride on mower and I figured car folk would be best informed.

It has some 1/4" drive in grease nipples in a position just above the cutting deck with about 2" clearence and its not possible to get to them.

I've tried to buy right angle ones but no one up here even has the straight variety.

Does anyone know if right angle ones exist?

    regards flicker.

yep, my Rover has a few right angle ones so they do exist. I use a flexible hose on the end of my grease gun to get to the tight areas.

Thanks for your imput fellas but as yet I cannot find any australian source for these Knock in in grease nipples, sometimes called drive in or press in or zerk.

Its amazing how manufacturers will save a few cents on tapping a hole and put the customer in a bad position.

I have found the part numbers Alemite 1744
and lincoln 5318 but no supplier yet.

If anyone can assist I'd appreciat it.

    regards flicker

Hello myf360f1, Yes thats the story no thread just a few rings (like threads)
to create an interference. A way to save on manufacturing costs.

Such great forsight a straight nipple under the floor pan pointing at the cutting deck and only about 2" above the deck. I doubt even a flexible connection would bend sharp enough.

This and a few other little things spoil what is a powerfull and efficient machine, It will rocket along at about 10 kph.

    regards flicker.

    Thanks (again) hoe,
That was my original idea but these were not know of up here. (until now)

The machine has steel bushes welded to the frame and a one inch shaft
with flanges welded to the shaft ends so nothing comes apart . I want to extend its life with good maintance.

    regards flicker.
