Due to a number of issues including legality and size restrictions , Austech will no longer be using its internal attachment system. We have a system built in to the forum for Imageshack for photo hosting , and Megaupload for file hosting. Below , I have provided a brief foolproof tutorial for the benefit of members so that they dont have any problems and get full use out of the services provided.
Hosting a picture
Ok , firstly we will start with adding a photo .
Scroll down to the quick reply box and you will see " Upload your files here ".
Click on the browse button. Select the photo from your computer. Then click the " Host It " button and the photo will be uploaded to Imageshack's server in a seperate window.
Once uploaded , copy and paste the " thumbnail for forums 1 " code in to your post. This will display a small " thumbnail " of your photo that others can click on to see the image in its full size. This is the quickeast and easiest way to do it and is the recommended method by us. It provides members with the opportunity to look at the image without having to do it in full size.
You can also click on the photo after it has been uploaded and copy its URL ( web address ) and then paste it in to your post using the copy and paste function on your computer. Then , at the start of the web address add this [img] and at the end of the web address add this [/img].
Simply , you are telling the forum software that the URL ( web address ) you are posting is an image and it will then display it in fullsize.
An example [img$]http://www.austech.info/austech_banner.jpg[/img]
( You would of course take the dollar sign out of the first image tag and make it [img] as I have put it there so it wont try to display a picture and that you can see the code. The URL would also be an imageshack one , not an Austech one ).

Hosting a file
Similar to above , scroll down to the quick reply box until you get to the " Megaupload Filebox ". Click on the browse button to find the file on your computer and select it. In the box below it , enter a description of the file , example , " version 4 software " etc.
If you are happy with all that , simply click the " send " button. You will stay on the forum page ( no new page will open ) and you will see estimated time left and transfer rate displayed during the upload process.
Please be patient....the size of the file dictates how long it takes to upload it and it is far faster and able to take larger files than Austech's internal attachment system.
Once completed , you will see the words " Upload Complete " and the url ( web address ) of the file you have just uploaded. Copy and paste this URL in to your post and your job is done.
You can also do the same thing at but we have been unable to implement it in to the forum at this stage. We do not recommend you use Rapidshare, we recommend you use the Megaupload filebox on the forum because any files upoaded go to Austech's Megaupload account and wont be deleted.
