    Howdy Fern,
    bought a 500s off ya back in 2008 and after 3 years of daily use and abuse I think it's just bought the farm - no led showing power on - nada!
    Any hints as to how can I see if its the power supply (old version with figure 8 into power block with lead to unit) is there a non multimeter way to see if I need a whole one or just a supply?

    most likely the power supply, try find another 12V 1A/2A power supply from another product and see if it works.

    Make sure when you do, that it is postive to tip and negative to the outer.

    Sorry if this seems like a silly question, but are these clones or legits...

    Just got ripped into by the support team of DREAMBOX LIVE -

    When asking if I had a clone or not, to which I had the assumption I did, as I don't think they manufacture them anymore.

    1. You donīt have a dreambox 500, you have a clone!
    2. Clones will not work
    3. Clones are illegal stuff
    4. We donīt give support for clones

    Do you ask microsoft for support, if you have a illegal copy?
