    Default Cable TV Cable Type?

    Hi all,

I was just wondering if the cable from a gray optus cable tv box located on the side of the house, that then feeds the wall plates, is standard quad shield RG6?

    Cheers,
    Aus

Yep... either RG6 quad or tri-shield.

If it's run underground (usually Foxtel) it will have a flooding compound under the jacket, or if it's overhead, it will have an integrated catenary (support) wire in it.

Other than that, just your common RG6 Quad or trishield.

Sweet. Thanks for the reply mtv. I'll feed the wall plates from the box with my roll of quad shield RG6 and the box to street connection will obviously be done by the providers. Thanks again for the info.
