Hi Ive done one or two backups from scratched disks
First get an old dvddecrypter and rip the whole movie
second get DVD2one and strip the movie section should be the only one
about 120 min big then do the audio 5.1 or 2.0 subtitles if they fit
to another dir to the hdd
finally nero 6 full ver goto dvd copy then down to movie then drag your striped movie across and presto single layer movie with chapters and without menus Make sure that you own the movie though dont do any thing illegal

can any dvd be copyed on the fly with these programs? and can you create a DVD and burn without haveing to create a DVD image on your PC first?

DVDFab Platinum will do it on the fly but I'm not sure if it creates a temp file first.

anydvd and clonedvd2 also gets my vote.

Just recently i came across two dvd's that clonedvd2, dvd shrink, dvdfab could not do. Good old Nero (nerovision) and anydvd did the job for me.
