    Default xts 3000 help

    hey guys.
While programming my 3000 to the new cb 80 ch format (yes i know i should of done this a while ago) my computer froze. now usually it should be able to program the code-plug in again. but it must of froze at the wrong time as my lovely xts started showing FAIL 01/82, i tried about 5 times to program it and now it comes up that my radio is inhibited.

Now you might say its a trip to Motorola but i don't think so there has to be a way around it somewhere.
I have an SRECORD that i can pull off another 3000 if i need to so thats no problems

I had a similar thing on a 5000, I didn't know to much about it all, so I got a hold of depot 7 created a new plug and CBI programmed the unit. After it was working again I just used my old code plug and I was back in the game.

the depot v7.00.00 is for the ASTRO25 series portables. As you say you will need the ASTRO portable depot or you can use the MTSX depot and force a new codeplug that way.

You had an inhibited radio to start with & you tried changing the srec to uninhibit.

It is not possible for a codeplug to self inhibt, despite what you do to it

Two reason for the fail code, cps has been interrupted when writing "like you said" or editing the srec & writing it back to the radio.

Upload the srec to filebox, I'll have a look at it & if i'm wrong I fix your fail code & you will not lose your tuning values. + give you an apology if i'm wrong.

Well i can stop you at the first line. no the radio was fine before it hasnt been connected to a trunking system for it to be inhibited . secondly if i could get the srec off the damn radio id of fixed it by now as i would of had the depot tools.
the one thing im missing from the entire equation is the depot tool, thats all. i know how to fix it after that and as far as i know you cant pull an srec unless you have the depot tool, i can upload the codeplug from the cps if that helps

backup your corrupted codeplug into an ARC file to save the serial-number and tuning data DONT just dump a new codeplug in.

Done All backed up, i have the tags on the back of the radio so i have the serial number. the tuning data i got out of the radio by the astro radio tuner program (all the softpot values)
I'll be sending the radio off to an upgrade in firmware soon as its still back v5 firmware.

Are you now saying that the radio did not get inhibited? or that CPS did not say your radio is inhibited?

    I'm confused

Just because your radio did not connect to a trunking site, doesn't mean your radio did not get inhibited.

I except the radio has tags & serial number.

But how does this radio get inhibited? Only one way to inhibit an xts3000 & that is from a console after that ID has being a pain in the ass.

The point I'm making is, don't bull s*it and think you can get away with it.

Anyone that wants to dispute how a codeplug gets inhibited, feel free.

that's right basically tell me im lying, ALL I DID WAS ASK FOR HELP IDIOT
I didn't say the radio isn't inhibited the cps tells me it is (go on idiot quote me) . and last but not least you haven't really read anything i have said like if i could actually get an s record of the radio i would of by now and you'd be fixing it for me.
if i had done something to get the radio inhibited i would of been blunt about it i don't beat around bushes.
Now let me start it again from the top in layman's terms.

plugged radio in programmed new 80 ch from the codeplug i read from the radio.
while writing my computer froze you know when it doesnt work anymore and you have to reset it...
turn on radio get FAIL 01/82 error. restart computer write to radio again doesnt work. i tried again 5 times. CPS tells me that the codeplug that the cps is writing to is inhibited and that i should investigate why this has happened. (i dont know who the hell could of inhibited my radio)

Now if your implying my radio is one that is Lost, Stolen or obtained illegally please feel free to pm me. and i'll tell you where to shove your comments.

I understood what you said just fine, thank you.

    Upload your codeplug

As i said, "I'll have a look at it & if i'm wrong I fix your fail code & you will not lose your tuning values. + give you an apology if i'm wrong."

You want help with an inhibited radio like you said it was. Show me.

If your radio was not wacked by a console as i said I'll fix your problem, but if it was your on your own.

I can't see any reason why you don't take up the offer, if what you say it true.

you need depot.... and xts3k depot has never been seen by anyone in the general public .. the other alternative is to try and read it with tuner software and write down all the tuning details.. then jam in a srec from another xts3000 and then re enter all the tuning details that you wrote down ... if this fails and believe me sometimes it does then you need depot...
