framtech, yeh the acid did go on the circuit board, but after trying to detect the problem using a digimeter and cleaning the stuff with no success, i realised that my warrently was still good, just!. So I took it back and got a new remote. Should have thought about that 2 months ago so i could still record my shows.

There are noise issues with these boxes, using the digital out seems to solve this or atleast make it un-noticable. Also make sure you have the volume on the stb all the way up and use the tv/stereo to control the volume not the stb.

I just bought one of these set top boxes. I have a 250 GB SATA disk and IDE adaptor. Can I use this disk in the STB?

Any help would be appreciated.
