    Default dreambox error

I have a DM600s, when I rebooted the box using the menu, the dreambox stopped working, when I power the dreambox on now the red and green leds on the front flash.

Have tried using dreamup to try re-flashing it, however I got the following error

    10:51:42 AM box type: DM600PVR
No Ca found by 2nd stage loader, please contact support at dream-multimedia!"

is there a work around for this problem?

    Thanks

    Hi,
Did you try dcc or dreambox control center?

I have stolen the following from the dream multimedia forum:

    1. Boot the box, goto the communication menu and note the ip address.
    2. Run DCC, connect to the dreambox. Once the network is connected ok, click on the the 'Telnet' option.
    3. In the telnet window, type the following, pressing <return> at the end of each line.
    mount /boot -o remount,rw
    rm /boot/*
    reboot
    4. You should now get a message saying that the Dreambox is rebooting.
    5. Wait a few seconds and then run Explorer (Firefox or whatever) and enter the ip address of the Dreambox in the address bar.
    6. On the screen that appears, choose the 'Upgrade firmware' option, find the .nfi file and click the 'Flash' button.
    7. Once the progress bar reaches 100%, reboot the box

I always use the network to flash my db7020, but that probably won't work with the 600. Note you potentially can brick your box playing around with that. But it is bricked anyway

    Hope that helps.

    Cheers

not much luck with the following post, Hyperterminal says the 2nd Stage Loader needs to be reloaded using dreamup with a serial, but doing this still doesn't work.

believe or not I manage to get the box working.

Pulled the case apart, and removed the tuner, under the tuner is a SIM Card, While running dreamup and powering up the dreambox to upgrade the frimware I pushed pressure down on the SIM card, once the box starts updating you can release that pressure on the Sim card.
Box is now working, Not sure what the SIM card has to do with the 2nd loader, but this has worked for me.
    Enjoy.

Was just a straight copy form the thread. I was hoping the ip adress is known...

The first stage loader (db7020) definitely speaks to CF card and I seem to remember it also speaks to lan...
