    Default Dreambox with foxtel

I have two Dreamboxes setup on my network at home both running Gemini
image with a ligitimate foxtel card in one of them both with cccam and
would like the other to act as a client how can this be done? I was told that maybe looping the dish one of the other could do this but i found out with no luck.

    reeco,

If it hasn't already, the 2nd dreambox needs a satellite feed as well. You can get this by getting a dual LNB and running one feed to each of your dreamboxes.

Then you can set up one dreambox as a server and the other as a client. I use CCcam for both server and client.

    In the server cccam.cfg I have -

    F: username password

    In the client cccam.cfg I have -

    C: SERVERIP 12000 username password

Where SERVERIP is the ip number of your server dreambox, and username/password are whatever you like (but both need to match in both dreamboxes).

the satellite feed from one box is not the best way to share a satellite
you end up with both boxes only able to watch the same polarity (H or V)
I agree with bloggs get a twin output LNB and run a cable to each (or to a multiswitch if you think you want more later)

the important stuff you need is a network cable betwene the boxes - or make sure they are both on the same network and can communicate

then I agree with bloggs CCcam for client and server is neat, works and is easy to set-up

I recently did exactly what you are trying to do with a whitey.

My combo was Magicamd & Newcs after some great help from members, it WAS up an running perfectly. Are you running the card off a phoenix ?

I ended up getting the dual lnb for about $65.

If you have Disecq 1.2 (ie a motorised dish) you should probably ensure that only one of the lnbs has this function active and this will become the "dish driver". Otherwise, the dual lnb is completely independent.

image with a ligitimate foxtel card in one of them both with cccam and
would like the other to act as a client but I would like to put another so one server and two clients, Is it just a matter of just adding another

    F: username password

    C: SERVERIP 12000 username password

and was also wondering what the F: and C: represent and 12000

This is explained in the cfg file default.

F: = Friends you let share your card when CCcam is running. (basically who you serve your card to) You set a user/pass for them to connect to.

C: = Connections to CCcam Server. Both Local & Remote

N: = Connection to a Newcamd Server Both Local & Remote eg.. NewCS etc. (using CCcam as Client mode)

the 12000 is the port number they connect to.

the CFG does explain all this just maybe not in easy to understand English for some I guess.

As for the dual pol LNB unless you want to watch BO or Pron you don't miss anything by only being able to watch whats on H.

    F: 1111 1111
    F: 2222 2222
    in the server box
    and

    C: SERVERIP 12000 1111 1111 in client 1
    and
    C: SERVERIP 12000 2222 2222 in client 2

The server can handle many more than 2.

Browse to each box in turn port 16001 () and check to see what is happening.

As I said Connects to a Newcamd Server eg... NewCS using CCcam in client mode.

N: is explained in the cfg too.

    N: <ip> <port> <username> <pass> <des(14byte)>

    eg...

    N: 127.0.0.1 10000 dummy dummy 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14

then when you start CCcam it will connect to the newcamd server.

I don't think that there is any real difference... just need to match the value in newcs & newcamd.

Have a read of the cccam.cfg file and you will see that port 16001 is the default port for the cccam web info page.
Your server connections come in on port 12000 by default. If you want to use a different port other than the default you set it with the SERVER LISTEN PORT : 14000 command.

you dont have to telnet to change the listening port.

You change it in the CCcam.cfg file and restart CCcam.

    or

you can telnet to your dreambox
    use
    vi to edit the file.

    and your done.
