Default DM500s not starting after power out.....

We had a power outage here overnight (apparently). Now all the power is restored, but my DM500 just starts up to the Nabilosat screen then just flashes on and off. I have tried powering down etc to no avail. Can't even Dreamup as it doesn't seem to get past the flashing screen. Have tried a couple of different PC's to try different Com ports....

    ....and ideas....?

    Cheers....

sound like it was hit with a power spike when the power came back on, try a different power supply for starters

....it actually powers up, but won't go past the Nobilosat start screen and then keeps flashing. I don't have any spare power supply around here. I'm assuming that when you say power supply you mean the internal supply and not the adaptor...

They dont have an internal power supply to change so he would mean the power pack.

OK, I don't have any power packs that might suit, so there goes that idea. But the box is poering up. It gets to the initial screen then just flashes. Does this mean the board is fried....?

no it means the image is most likely damaged and needs to be replaced
If the green LED is flashing on the front panel at the same time, this would indicate your power pack/brick needs replacing

No, the LED isn't flashing. What happens the box starts up and shows the Nabilosat screen. Then that screen starts to flash on and off like its caught in a loop. It sounded like a flash problem to me so I tried to hook it up with Dreamup to try and re-flash it but it won't even recognise it. So for now I have a box that just flashes the Nabilosat screen.....

Is there anybody here in Sydney that can have a go at re-flashing this box for me? I have tried to use Dreamup using 3 different cables on 2 PC's and 2 laptops. Similar thing happened a couple of weeks ago and I sent the box back to Fernbay, and he said he managed to flash it first go. So I figure if there is anybody here in Syndey who wants to have a go at it, it would save me the embarassment of sending it back to Fernbay. I think he's spent more time with the boc than I have....

How did you go with your box? I just bought one on the cheap with exactly the same problem.

Retruned the box back to Fernbay, and while he said he had no problems reflashing it, he replaced it with a new box anyway. The box is working OK now. I have even reflashed a couple of times myself. No idea what was wrong with the original box, but Fernbay was under no obligation to replace it, but he did anyway. I have only recommendations for Fernbay's services (free plug for him).
