Default If you have a DM800 clone you're on your own

It seems like no firmware providers are giving support for the DM800 clone. On the PLI Images website, I noted the following responses from the Administrator to someone who stated that Jade2 was not working...

yup, clones wont work on any image based on cvs later than Aug 08....
you'll have to go to a very old image, or see if you can get your money back...the problem is clones dont have the dreamcrypt card installed inside them.
    , and

we dont support or design our images to run on clones!

So, it's not just Gemini firmware that's an issue.

did you bother to read this old thread on here, where I gave such a warning ?

I am one of the admins there too as are several others using this forum, and this has always been the case with PLi. Now go and read the thread I posted above and then go back to the previous page and see what was said last year when asked this question.

Did you bother to notice that I made two posts in that thread. The other thread talks about Gemini problems, not PLi

I have a clone and all the latest images run fine (except PLI) Just don't put the latest in flash... I have Nabilo Pure Flash 11DEC, in flash and all the latest images on hard disk (6 at the moment... Everything I need runs fine... I have to say this is a great box, I have not had this much fun since we all bought 7000's in the bulk buy a few years ago.. With all the plugins. VLC movie Player. You Tube videos, web browser (I think you need a keyboard for it) Music player and photo player. It is like a complete media centre. And Barry Allen to handle images... I have spent days trying things.. As for the so called "GSOD" it occasionaly comes up, but my box just reboots enigma in a few seconds and all is fine again.. allways happens on PLI when changing something.. If you happen to flash with a new image and get the NO CA message, don't worry there is a fix on this forum....

I sum up the DM800 clone the same as a DM800 original...

    overpriced and unreliable.

That's not my experience. I've had a good run on the original and the picture quality is out of this world - fantastic.

Poor old Jonc, he's blaming the DM800 for all the woes of the Jade2 firmware which is absolute shite ATM. I'm sure the good folk there will sort out the issues and then he can start loving the DM800's again LOL.

My 800 works perfect mate, so do not know where you got that crap from, even works a ripper as others have said with a whitey, wifi and all the other mod cons. Problem is in this part of the world we have no HDTV to watch other than the network provider demos, so a total waste of money until we get some content to use it with.

Maybe it's just the latest version of Jade2 (3 Jan) coupled with the latest E2 update that causes the problem. There are definitely issues there as attested to by many others including the PLi software designers.

To refresh my memory, I just tried to install jade again on hard disk,, goes on fine , but there is no writing in the menu boxes.....not the GSOD problem.. All other images run fine... I have Jade on my 7000,500,600PVR and even PLI on my Mutant... Allways prefered PLI... Just have to wait I guess for a new image....
I gotta say again, I love this box...even the timeshift sort of works.... Not as good as the 600 though...
