    Default mac address issue ?

    ive got dreamboxs ,server to one client works perfect, no picture freeze .But after i plug cat5 into 2nd client , both clients picture start freezing . ive read mac address threads , do u think thats my prob .

    you could check the mac addresses on both boxes and if they are the same, that's your problem. There are threads here on how to change the mac address and you'll need to do this on one box.

    Yes, that's almost certainly the cause of your problem. Routers decide where to direct traffic based on IP addresses, but when it comes to deciding which device on a subnet owns which IP address it's done using MAC addresses, expressed as long hexadecimal strings. Each ethernet device should have a unique MAC address, but unfortunately some manufacturers drop the ball and fail to meet their responsibility for keeping every unit unique. DM500s in particular are prone to have this problem. The classic symptom is two people have DM500s that both work fine, but if plugged onto the same network they start playing up.

    The solution is to reconfigure one or both of them with new MAC addresses. It's been discussed in several places, such as .

    Default lost cccam

    i think i stuffed up , i tried to change mac addy by putting line into file but when i connected box back 2 tv, i couldnt find cccam in blue panel , any ideas what 2 do thanks
