    Default DM500S Thaicom 5

    Hi,

Anyone manage to pick this sat up with the DM500S? My old cheapo semi receiver works fine but the DM500S will not get a lock.

    Cheers

Most of us here can't see that bird as most of us are in the Southern Hemisphere.

It works well into the southern hemisphere on the global beams, or it did the last time we were in Townsville and over in Perth on a DM500 on a 2.4m C band dish.

Yes we get it here on a 500 100% but then again it beamed right to us here in Thailand.

Seems like I need a strong receiver for this. Hopefully Vinasat 1 can be picked up with the DM500S. I will try to move the dish later and see how things goes.

    silly questions here...

If you have the DM500 looped with your move STB, they are both on the same polarity transponders i.e.

    Move STB - Vertical
    DM500 - Vertical

    etc ....

No idea what you are referring to.

I managed to pick up Thaicom 5 fine after I setup the LNB setting to 5150 in all three field.

Now I have the beast pointing to Vinasat 1 now.
