    Default web-x-tv / vpid

    Hey Guys,

Long time reader - first time poster..

I'm moving to the east coast next week, and am at the moment down to my dreambox, my router & my ePC.

For the life of me, I cannot get Web-X-TV or the vpid link to bring up a picture. (I can use the apid to get audio though).

I have done a bit of research, and uninstalled the lastest version of VLC and downgraded to the 0.8.6i version as suggested in another thread, but that hasnt worked.

I've tried IE8 & the latest Firefox, both to no avail (Firefox says "video is loading", IE now brings up a white box with the VLC logo in the applet.)

I can stream a recorded file fine, and even download it ok...but not live picture.

This is, I'm pretty sure, the first time I have tried to stream the box to my PC since I went from Enigma to a PLi image... (And I've also told my firewall, just the Windows one, to accept the port requests)

I'm really raw and green when it comes to the dreambox's, but have a bit of a working knowledge with PC's, routers etc.

Can anyone help please!!? I'm going mental with no tv to watch!!

Can you stream directly to VLC?

Open VLC > Open Network Stream .

uninstall vlc - then do a complete full install - make sure you tick the active x addins for mozilla
also the versions around 8.6h of vlc work better than others
    Dm500, DM5620, DM600 x2, DM7000 x1, DM7020, DM7025, DM800, VU+DUO and a partridge in a pear tree

Upgraded to Windows 7 Pro & setting up with VLC 0.8.6i

it doesnt save network IP settings & wont start LVC from the vpid
WILL start audio from apid though..(click on apid & file download box opens to initiate vlc to open)

Use FISCSTREAM (woks with Gemini). Otherwise flash your box with PLI. VLC cannot cause such problems.
