Default Wireless to Dm500 - help needed

    Hi All,

I have been mucking aroung trying to get wireless happening for the dm500, with no success.

    What i have;
    Belkin (F5D7230-4 with w/ 4x lan & 1x wlan) connected to the dm500
Dlink (DSL-G604T w/ 4x lan & 1x wlan) combo ADSL that also has 3 PC's connected to it.

I have tried to set the belkin as a bridge and placed corresponding info in the Dlink, the Dlink is set as AP, and have had no joy to date.

With the lappy, i can get into the menus on both units via thier wireless connection.

has anyone here got some experience with setting up these two units?

Any help is once again, greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

    cheers
    hannible

You need a acess point capable of acting in client mode.
Far as I am aware the devices you listed will not work.

The bridge mode you speak off is to do with adsl modems so it can handle all authntication, not for it to connect devices in a client situation.

Do a quick search on austech plenty of info available.

Cheers for that, did discover the belkin is not capable (due to its firmware) and it is compatible to other belkins only.

That dont phase me at all, belkin was cheap.

Dlink does support client mode, but i get me grubby mits on a dlink range extender that i just had a look at would do the job nicely.

Thanks anyway for the quick reply though, much appreciated.

    cheers

Hardwired is best anyhow imo. There are so many devices that use the 2.4ghz range its just not as reliable anymore.
