Default Flashing not successful?

Ok, so i follow the steps and upload the official PLi image from via network.

It clears the flash, loads the new image. Completes. Sweet as I think.

BUT I then wait for about 2 mins, it just hangs. The green light on the front eventually turns itself off.

About 5 mins later I decide to pull the plug (surely it can't still be doing anything).

Plug it back in and still a blue screen (from my LCD it's connected to).

All the lights in the case were working fine, but no picture.

Using a (legit) DM500S going from Gemini to PLi using pli-iolite-dm500-20071230-4014.

What next? Serial cable? Brick is not an acceptable answer

Try Dreamup with serial null cable.
The most reliable way to flash.

Following that while you had another image installed was not a good idea.

Only a null modem cable and dreamup will fix it...

I just turned my DM500s into a Zombie using my LAN and i'm waiting for a Null Modem cable to arrive hopefully i can fix it with that - i went to Dick Smith but they don't sell them nor do they sell straight through 9pin f-f serial cables anymore.

I have a PLI Image in my computer that i downloaded that apparently contains Pli, CCcam, nds & phoenix and is scanned to C1, so i'm hoping using Dreamup and the Null cable i can reinstall what i previously had and be able to use my F****L card to view the channels i had before my Dm500s went mad and i lost control of it.

What does Newcs do and do i need to reflash that as well after i've flashed the pli image as i only want to watch F****L again using my legit sub card.

Can all this be done using Dreamup on serial null modem cable ?

LAN hase'nt been kind to me as i've already turn my DM500s into a Zombie.

I guess some of you never saw the warnings.

Once you flash a box with any max-var image (Gemini for example) the only way to install another NON max-var image on a DM500 is by dreamUP (PC/Linux and a null/cross-over modem cable) ensuring you do a flash erase as well.
