Default Dm500 Cant record on mounted drive Jade3

Got a problem with dm500 and i dont know whats up.
im using Jade 3 if that helps,i have already re-imaged twice and still the same.

i mounted a folder on win 7 machine and its mounted properly, gave the folder full permssion to read/write, i can browse the folder from the Dm500.

but for some reason i just cant record on the bloody thing.Always gives me this Error.

If i mount that same folder on my dm7020, it mounts and records no problem, tried 3 different folders on 3 different machines and they all work on the dm7020, do it on the dm500 and it spits out that error.

i noticed that everytime i mount a folder on the dm500, it does not display the disk space / remaining hours.
but on the dm7020 it will give those details.

    Any Ideas?

I had the same issue and from memory resolved it by changing the share options of the Windows folder to allow "Everyone" access.

I'm not sure of the specific options as I don't have a WIN7 system around at the moment to test.

thanks, that kinda worked, it showed Hdd space and time left but it still gave an error when recording,it needed more files in there.

so,i let my 7020 create all the files thats automatically written when its mounted and then used the 500 to mount that same folder, now it works

i did it the other way at first, thats why it didnt work first time.

Jade 3 doesn't work with DM500 for movies.
    [from memory]
When it came out the built-in movieplayer was not compatible. I went back to Jade 2 and all is good. Maybe something has been fixed since, but I dont think so.

[from memory also, I think the .86 version VLC is the only one that works best. That was the issue as the new player in Jade 3 requires a later version VLC

Default same pb - other disk

    hi

I'm having the same kind of trouble with another network disk (LaCie)
however I don't have 2 dreambox like you do, just one
do you have any idea how those files that you mention are generated ?
or I could generate them myself ?

    cheers,
    Christophe
