Default Best image for Foxtel with legit card?

So, what's everyone's preference and why?

    Your question is wrong.

The 'image' is like a 'skin' - A GUI Interface...

The real magic happens in the emulators

I like OpenPli with the Kernl-HD skin. The image is solid and the skin looks good, and makes the EPG easy to read. OpenPli is quite active so there are always updates and fixes as required.

Not too sure there is a "better" image. I use what my wife likes and today thats PLi Jade with CCcam for pay tv and an early version of Scam for Irdeto1. (DM7000 and DM500)

    E1 or E2 boxes?

E1, i prefer Pli (but as mentioned, it is for looks and usability, is has no bearing being any better or worse for Poxtel)

I know people say it's the EMU's and this is corret for getting the card to work. The image and skin used will have a bearing on things like EPG layout and also features like 7 day epg!

    ....Leroy

PS The key to the whole thing is Oscam

I agree with leroy and fernbay
Most important thing is softcam/emulators - for most of us it is OScam, CCcam and mgcamd - or a combination of two of these - get those working
next is the skins - some images have some skins and other images other skins - here it is personal preference .. or what does the missus like
then it is the features in the image after that

    for me
    1. oscam server .. cccam client
    2. pli on all boxes
    3. x-line skin on E1 and magic on e2
    Dm500, DM5620, DM600 x2, DM7000 x1, DM7020, DM7025, DM800, VU+DUO and a partridge in a pear tree
All it takes for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing

Yeah, sorry mate ... I know what you are saying. I originally had a different title for the thread and changed it before creating. I guess I was after the emu and skin.

I agree with other posters that the skin is a personal thing but it's been so long since I fired up the dreambox that I haven't been up with the changes/features.

Really note sure ... it's one of the original DM7000's so I presume E1 ... ? I was using it with Austar until they banned non-provider boxes, so I shelved it.

My Dad now has foxtel, so I thought I would try and get it working should he come over and bring his card with him.

Thanks Lomax. The box has an old PLi verson on it ... at the time, I liked it the best so might have a look at upgrading.

Something's happened to the HDD in it ... I just get a clunking sound every second so I'd say it's shot as well !

Well looks like the vote goes to oscam. I'll have a play with it - are there any tricks for a standard (ie. non card-sharing ) setup ?

Try these steps as a starting point:

    Hi All,

    My setup is;

    mgcamd
    oscam
    pli

    dm518 (for the moment)

I do agree with others here, oscam is the plan.

    cheers
