wonder if it could be a EPG issue?
I have a dream box that locks up every day at 6.01pm for about 10 seconds.
It usually happens when I am watching the news - a pain the arse. I have checked every dreambox setting I can find with no success.
Tonight it seems to have moved to 7.01pm (maybe a daylight savings thingy somewhere).
2 x 100M switches have been changed to Gigabit ones so it will not be a switch problem. Turning off any other dreams I may have had on the time has also made no difference.
Is it possible to setup a wireshark data capture just in case it is something else on my local network doing something strange - worst case it should help to pin point where the problem is located - network or box related?

I'd be checking the dhcp lease settings in your router. Its possible that the ip address is renewed daily. The fact that it happens at the same time every night leads me to believe it is a timed event.
Also check to see If you running any cron jobs on your dreambox at this time.
Good luck.
What happens when the box is on FTA?

Funny you should mention that, I have the same thing happen now and then on my fox IQ box with an orange card. It occurs as the first news (CH9 Syd 6pm) story begins, the picture and sound freezes but a change of the channel up and down fixes the issue. It happened again last night.
What type of dm?
Actually my dm500 oscam server was offline this morning. Telnetted in...dm500 was done a ps and noticed oscam wasnt running.
Killed itself overnight.
Just executed it again. No boot reboot.
Are you running CrossEPG to update if using a dm800?

DM518 is what I am having problems with.
I will be swapping it with a DM800 hopefully in the next week or two. It will be interesting to see if the problem stays or goes with that

Joe
I noticed it happen again at a minute or so past 7pm tonight.
Router and other STBs have been checked. I am moving off the DM518 to a DM800 soon so I will see what happens with that.
Given that there has been feedback from other members of exactly the same thing, maybe it has something to do with the stream or special updates that happen at this time that affects the Dream hardware or software??
Is it possible to have a look your LAN traffic condition on the freezing moment? Or, have a look for a FTA program.
