Default Pixelation and Fast Zapping Question

Doing some experimenting with an Oscam server and client settings with combinations of DM500 and DM800 s.

I have noticed that there may be some clients, when they are connected, producing pixelation for other clients. I recall reading somewhere that if a client has Fast Zapping enabled this is what might happen.

I am mainly using PLI images (a couple are Gemini I think) and with the couple of boxes I have checked (PLI) there seems to be no setting turn Fast Zapping on or off...(it may be that these images simply do not have fast Zapping.. or it is off by default).

Is there any way to read or see... say on the Oscam server, if a client has fast zapping turned on ?

    Thanks Vic

Thought I would ask anyway just in case there was something available that would help.

One thing I have done though, is to disable or remove clients I am suspicious of causing the problem... it looks like there may be some improvement but still needing to soak test over time.

Just doing some more fiddling around again here investigating different things - this time with Client CCcam.cfg settings.

The examples below are options in CCcam.cfg settings but I am not sure if this is in reference to Cccam client or Cccam server functions?

    "DISABLE EMM : no"
    "EXTRA EMM LEVEL : no"

Can anyone advise any experience or knowledge here?

I think these may be for CCcam Server functions.

My understanding of those settings were that they were client related ..
I think this may be backed up because the F lines on the server has allowemm as a parameter

so the client uses those flags as to whether to send them and trhe server uses the F: line to determine whether to receive them and process them ..

Fast zapping was in pli Enigma 1 images .. should be ther on the 500 somewhere .. I dont recall seeing it anywhere in the enigma 2 images ..so prolly not on the 800

    Cool Thanks

I also mucked around with mgcamd client and had a bit more success fiddling with this cam's parameters.

To help with this I have used Oscam server as a "test bed" to test a theory around cam settings to stop emms at the client side:

Firstly I ensure that the client is sending updates by checking the oscam server webif EOK field for that client and check that field increases over time. Typically a few emms will be recieved within a minute or so.

Then I go back to the client and change settings that should prevent the client cam sending emm's. If it is successful no further increases of the EOK field for that client will be seen in the oscam webif.... point proven

For some reason Cccam settings to prevent emms at the client side does not work.
    No problems with Mgcamd settings.

It may be a CCcam version issue however for now I will be looking a using Mgcamd as a client for obvious reasons.

Yes I did this with CCcam ... same issue.

For me at the moment anyway I will use Mgcamd to keep the clients that are not used for updating "lean" whilst still having the setup working at optimum for minimal or no pixelation

"fast zapping' on the DM500 E1 images causes the audio to become out of sync with the video. It does not affect the decryption.

Yes have done this - problem is intermittent...it is more so trying to fine tune the setup.

I believe a smargo will be an improvement over a simple serial port ... another line of thought

Not using VM - I have tried both with a DM500 as well as a stand alone P4 Ubuntu Linux server.

As I have said before the pixelation is intermittent - just looking to fine tune experimenting with the setup.

ATM I believe setting clients to use the Mgcamd cam with emm updates turned off is a good point (except for one client so the card can get updates)

Oh yes ... the fast zapping had something also to do with the out of sync Voice and video. In any case it is best to turn it off anyway.
