    Default Fox orange card useless?

Can anyone see the light at the end of the tunnel for the fruity?

Will the OSCAM/CCCAM ever work again on the Dreambox500 with Fruity?

Can anyone out there provide a definite answer to this simple question?

Or should we all just disconnect our Soxtel and bury our Dreamboxes away forever?

misleading title. Its time you learnt that you end a sentence or statement that is a question with a question mark not an exclamation mark.

However so as to not reply completely off topic in answer to your question history tells us that something around the corner will get the fruity cards to work its just a matter of when not if. how long will that be well im not connected enough to make any educated guess.

it could be days, weeks, months until a working solution is found and released. In the early 00's (2001/2002) most of the European providers changed their relevant encryption leaving non subscribers with black screens for over two years, until a working solution was finally released. Don't get me wrong i am not saying this is necessarily the case here but no one can know how long it will take were all just guessing.

Thread title changed from 'Fruity fixed!!!' to give the thread a more appropriate title that reflects the threads content.

My bet if a fix ever does come out its going to be private for a long time.
I had a PM from someone the other day asking for help ( I didn't even bother replying ) he had 8 clients that is a bloody joke and this is what has killed our hobby for TTB

absolutely, i think it's already well known of my loathing towards those kinds of people. if that kind of behavior goes on for much longer the hobby we know now will be damaged beyond all repair.

It's a good thing it happened, if only for a small period of time since it disrupts the financial relationship between those pay server operators and their clients. Even if a fix is found this year or next the clients will be less likely to waste money on 3rd party STB's if they are uncertain about continuous service.
For the same reason, the blue cards need to be changed ASAP to stop that little loophole for a period of time as well.

The only way to stop abuse would be to somehow restrict card server software to the same LAN and restrict the number of simultaneous clients but with open source development that is impossible.

Good points davemel - the real answer (as stated elsewhere in here) is to release an authorised hardware cam. You cant share them with software..

Ain't ever going to happen. If they release a hardware CAM they have to support it and that would be a nightmare. SelecTV stopped doing card only installs to the general public for just that reason.
It seems everything in our society has to be simplified or crippled to a level such that any idiot can use it. If not, it's banned or made illegal.

If anyone from Foxtel is reading here....

I only have a Foxtel Subscription in the Capital City, because I want the City FTA channels

Why not make a package of the City FTA channels that I can Subscribe to...

    (from anywhere in Australia ?)

I know this sounds like an odd request..... (& would need some working out)

I am a Foxtel & Austar customer, willing to pay for the service

I would also be willing to pay for a package or two of the Vast channels,

    (from anywhere in Australia)

    again as a PayTV package,

we have Adults channels, & Main event, & On Demand Movies....

surely this is not a bigger taboo, that cannot be overcome...

sorry if this is a little off topic...

they can't do the FTA thing because of the same reasons we have Impaja, Central 7 etc with their licenced areas. Then there's the terrestrial operators, all the Win, Prime etc...
    It will never happen.

Will never happen unless they change out the uec decoders.
Also I fail to see what foxtel have gained from this exercise as rdc cards will now be the prime choice in payservers.
So now you have the pirate card sellers feeding the pirate card servers can it get any worse then that??
Good one foxtel all you have done is forced all people who just want to use their geniune orange foxtel card in a decent third party receiver back to your provider box

That's been their plan all along, to swap out all the non-IQ boxes for IQ boxes that are H.264/DVB-S2 capable.

The Irdeto loophole will eventually be closed after Austar is wiped out.

Read the other day that Foxtel stopped ordering non-IQ boxes at the beginning of this year.

Says who do you have any idea of the expense to do that.
They will eventually do that by natural nutrition but that will take years

    How is that off topic?

Vic is correct in saying people will buy cards from sellers just so they can use a 3rd party box that is superior in everyway to a provider box.

Thus the basis of fact of the post you deleted. (and no, i am not trying to pick a fight either)

    cheers
    hannible
Because you said (and I quote in full)
"Ahhhh, the fat, bald, heavily tattooed dude at the frankston pub must be stoked now

    cheers
    hannible"

The reason it was deleted is because it was OFF TOPIC.
    Your post had no merrit.

The 'bald guy at the frankstone pub joke' is no longer funny.
It's tired, old, tired and worn out, except for any poor newbie who reads it and the perpetuates it.

Any further references to bald guys and pub are also going to be deleted.
    They are off topic.

Hobby!, well you would not be concerned about a new encryption system or a modified encryption system if it was a hobby for you. In fact you would be happy about the changes as now it gives you something to do. Anyone that is unhappy about this change is using the info for all the wrong reasons. And yes i am in fact one of them( or should i say was one of them)
