It doesn't just work with an existing newcs.xml file.

It just shuts down....pretty hopeless really.

Strange as the .ppc version work on the dm boxes i tried and with external serial phoenix's as well. The unix version works OK but does not seem like a infinity / phoenix usb very much, but no lose. You do know they have changed a chunk of the xml layout right, you did read the examples.

I agree the wintel PC version has a lame gui

Same xml works for me. That includes 1.20 right up to and including 1.60.

I guess not all xml configs are the same.

Yep and that is the only one that crashes with incorrectly configured serial and or phoenix drivers, or just a dumb bug in this beta release.

I don't have a whitey, but can you run newcs v1.60 in debug mode and see if it passes the cb commands?

dont know about you guys, but i have always been unsure what algorithm to use, fifo or round...i was always changing them to try and get the best out of newcs.

I have a try with this new one but if there are phoenix bugs then its a show stopper for me

Is this in windows? does it crash or give an error message?
If it is in windows then under debug try setting
    <output>none</output>

You will not get any information in the console though, it will just be blank.

The <output>none</output> option seems to work. Any ideas on what causes the problem. I have two separate XP PCs with the same Windows build (or at least same original disk), and one runs NewCS 1.6 fine and the other has the debug issue. NewCS1.5 runs fine on both PCs.

    Cheers

Can any one tell me why 1.5 (five) "re-inits" the card every 2-5 minutes, yet on other sessions its fine. Sharing NDS.

Also cant run two progs with 1.6 (six) at the same time?

    Cheers Palmac.

But you can write the newcs.xml to have more than 1 card reader, the examples show you how to have up to 8 card readers in one application with mixed cards.

So why do you need two applications running?

Hello Fazza, I have this problem also. Do you know what is the cause? I would like to fix it and get real time log on screen.
    Thanks and best regards.
