I have a TV card "Leadtek Winfast TV 2000" that takes video in.

Every time I have tried to do video capture it always seems "fiddly" with poor quality recording. It also takes massive amounts of disk space if you want to record a movie.

This card is probably getting a bit old now.

BTW I have only used Dscaler to do recordings and have not had any luck with any other video software.. this always a pain.

Does anyone have any "good" experiences to share here?

Thnaks

Not sure if it is related but a friend of mine had a SD PVR that he had tv shows he wanted to burn to DVD using his DVD recorder.
When he tried to record it the DVD recorder said it couldnt record it as it was copy protected or something.
The tv program he was trying to record was in wide screen. He changed the output to 4:3 and it worked. It will not let him record anything on his DVD recorder from his PVR that was in 16:9 format. I am not sure of the brand of his recorder but it might be a similar problem to yours.
Good Luck

Now that is strange, too bad if you wanted to record in 16:9 format.

Thanks for the feedback anyway I will try it wen I can.

What movie is it exactly? That would help us identify what kind of copy protection its using.

I do not think naming the DVD movie/s I have been trying to back up is the issue.
The point is that this happens to me time and time again with a number of movies. ATM I have been trying to backup my daughters DVD "Hair Spray" FYI.

BTW I ended up buying the Dick Smith "Video Stabiliser" kit.
I had to order it on line and it is looking at me now. Now I just need the time to build it... job for a rainy day.
Once I have built and tested this unit and assuming this will be the fix for my macrovision, my issue will be resolved.

I will post my results as soon as I know.
