Default Any LG Tech's Here Who Can Assist (Life's NOT Good)

I'm after some firmware for a PVR which LG will not e-mail me.

The PVR I have has real buggy firmware that prevents the timer record from working.

I have spoken to a seconds LG repairer (K-People) who will email me the firmware. The only thing is they sent me the wrong version and they are hard to get hold of.

They did tell me that there is an LG Asia tech site that authorised people can get onto and download software & firmware.

I'm hoping someone on Austech has access to this and can download for me. The info is as follows:

PVR Model - RH2T160
Firmware Version Required - 080711a

Appreciate it if anybody can help.

Oceanboy (and sorry to troyboy for hijacking), I have a LG 50PC3D (50" plasma) that on certain HD transmissions locks the picture. I have found it is a common fault for a certain engine and a firmware fix is available. I have contacted LG but have heard no response. Do you think it is worth pursuing this with LG or just cut it away? It has only happened on one occasion so I'm not terribly concerned.

Yep, Feb 2007 was the time all the units had the problem and people waited up until Sept 2007 to get them fixed. I know as people wanted to watch the AFL Grand Final on 7 HD and that was the station that caused it to lock up.

That firmware i posted should be the version to fix that problem and also the version after the one you have mentioned. As that is the very reason i have it in the first place

I'll package up a rar file for you with all you need. (loader, manual and firmware)
It is a very easy process, but you MUST follow it to the letter.

You will need:

A PC that has a serial contection (those USB to serial leads will NOT work)
Serial Null Cable

ahh, upgrades for freezing, mate they are a bugger...

troy boy, your software when it comes will be dvd installation, in other words just slip in the disk and poof (hopefully) you wont have to worry about serial cable.

all the manufacturers need to future proof theyre units, but they wont, it would cost too much, the prob has to do with the transmission software, the stations keep upgrading the software and hardware and sometimes there are back compatibility issues, the better sets have the ability to download the latest software from the stations themselves, but, the stations never agreed (like they did in europe) to transmit the software...so you've got to do it.

lifes grotesque recently lost a court case with an extended warranty company as they cannot supply certain panels cause they got none left so they are REFUNDING these customers if they cant supply parts

@coopsOz, jb's known for doing that, and your 5000 hours will be about a third to a quarter of the life of the unit..... hint hint fair trading!!!!

Yeah that is one thing that confuses me why they haven't got that going here as it would be such a good selling point to have firmware over the air.

Thanks Oceanboy...that would be appreciated.

As for my 5000hrs, I wouldn't even know where to begin to get that sorted out.

Oh, that is interesting. I was under the impression it was already happening, based on information obtained from the internet, which is the gospel truth of course. (It is in writing, isn't it)

viz:

::: Australian Digital Testing :::

and:

DMR-BW500 Firmware Update - Panasonic Australia

LOL Panasonic for a whole 2 days now that a great selling point

and for the time table for all the others looks a bit empty LOL
but things might change one year

We have no information on the schedule of downloads beyond what is on this page and are not able to deal with queries from the general public.
