    Default hitachi plasma 50PD960DTA

Just wondering if anyone has worked on a Hitachi plasma 50PD960DTA before. I've got one in for repair it has sound but no pix. From the powersupply the VS VA and 5+ are missing. I've since replaced the powersupply this hasn't changed the fault. I've also disconnected the supply line to the ysus and zsus boards still no output. If anyone has seen this fault before can you point me in the right direction please.

    thanks from Mich.

There is often a line from the main board that goes high to turn on Va and Vs.
You may be looking at main board.
Measure Va and Vs to ground on Y and Zsus boards. Some sets will not come up with rails constant with the boards disconnected.
If there is a short on Y or Z sus in these sets it can fool you lol

Hi Oscar. I checked the vs and va lines no shorts on them. i then turned on whilst monitoring the vs line it went to about 9 volts then the relays clicked off and slowly dropped to about 1 volt. at the same time the va line had 10 volts then dropped to about 2-3 volts

Hey Oscar. I believe i've just found the fault I disconnected the ysus upper and lower outputs boards and turned the set on and the rails came up. I guess i need glasses as the top one has got two blown ic's on it. I then put the bottom one back in circuit and got the bottom half of the pix displayed. I guess i'll order the top pwb and see what happens. Hope the ic's didn't blow because of a faulty PDP. Thanks for the reply.
