Can't stand DGTECH and sick of fixing them but I will say this, at least the end-user can flash the firmwares and saves us doing them all the time.

    Thanks for the post dude.

Carefull with some of those upgrades.
AFAIK the upgrade can not be reversed.
According to a well documented thread on Whirlpool forums it can lead to new bugs or mal functions.

I decided to keep the old firmware on my DG-HD2104AND (the infamous Aldi Android box)

... following my experience lately: "If it aint really that broke don't take the risk."
Update: A deletion of features that work well and ain't broke but are deemed outdated in order to add things that are up to date and broken.
Compatibility: A word soon to be deleted from our dictionaries as it is outdated.
Humans: Entities that are not only outdated but broken... AI-self-learning-update-error...terminate...terminate...

well finally got it going.. was a issue with network magic enabling the drives to share did nothing, but doing it to the individual folders they came all up one by one...

@ nomeat understand what your saying but this time it was beneficial, heaps better more responsive and a few new features...

all good now working perfect, but i do understand why dick smith took them off the shelves.. not user friendly at all for the novice...

    Lightbulb DG-HDMP1080 nightmare...

After spending a few hours on this device, I've come to a dead end... The usb upgrade function just don't want to work

The wifi works, lan works, the video podcast channels even work, but try to do the online upgrade?, oh no no, no joy for you!... apparently I need to 'recheck' the network due to connection failure.

I would like to get this install.img file downloaded from dgtech website manually installed, but the "hold the channel down button on the unit" trick doesn't work either.

any advice would be greatly appreciated!! (does the usb key need to be formatted some way?, do I need to chant some mythical rhymes?)

    Default dgtec site offline

    Hi,
I'm new here, so please be patient :-)
It looks like the dgtec.com.au site is offline (indefinitely?)
I've got a hdmp-1080p that I'd like to try to upgrade (it doesn't pick up channels during scan - and I've checked the aerial, connections, etc and all are OK).
Does anyone know where I can get the USB download?
    Thanks,
    Auwnch

If its not scanning channels its unlikely the firmware would help, sounds like a hardware problem
