    Default LG Microwave no go

Hi guys, my LG microwave mod MS3446VRL has crapped itself. No interior light or display. Are there any issues with this model that would cause the problem. The fuse has continuity.
    Any assist appreciated

    Next to check....

On the main board you should see a 8 pin plug with 5 wires attached, check with meter on AC volts accross pin 1 and pin 3 to make sure you have 240v.

Warning watch out for high voltages inside steer clear of the HV cap as it has enough potential to put you in an grave.

Iv'e 2 mic's in the workshop & thanks to a senior moment I stuffed up. NOT an LG as previously stated, it's a Panasonic inverter with no model number. I'll add pic's

Thanks mickstv, there's no 8 pin plug on the main board. It's is an inverter mod. Yeah know about the lethal cap. Very nasty.
    Cheers.

Strange because the service manual for that model shows a standard Transformer.

Some of them don't have a connector on the main board, but you'll have a loom going to that board and two of the wires will have constant 240 volt on it. If so then most likely the small transformer on the board is faulty and the only repair wlll be board replacement.

gota be careful with inverters, if the bleed resistor is O/C then it can be nasty

so you got nothing, first check the 240v ac to the front pcb, then check the transformer has ac on the secondary side, then check it's rectified eg dc voltages.
When I explained to the guy what avatar I wanted, that wasn't what I meant!

Seeing as it's a Pana remove the front circuit board and check the PCB tracks at the bottom near the relays, you might see some blow marks.

EDIT the model number might be located on the site of the display panel, just open the door and have a look.

Spot on as usual mickstv. The front pcb has a lot of damage, from the bottom of the board the to the centre. See pic's
Best solution? Loop or not to loop. Mod NN-ST656W
    Thanks.

Hi wort, the tracks along the side of the board that are blown control RY2 so chances are the drive transistor is faulty and it's possible the micro got hit as well. Personally I wouldn't bother wasting time on a loop job. If it's a customer unit just give them a quote on a new board.
