Default Samsung LA40R71BD - BN44-00134A Power board issue

    Hi all,

I just have a quick query on component ICM801 on a BN44-00134A power board. I know it is a common problem with these TV's where it overheats and melts, but the problem I have is that the one I have has melted so badly I can not read any information off it. Google search sows up very little.

Would anyone know the specifics of this item?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Have found that it could be a TO-220F-6L Green Mode Fairchild Power Switch (FPSTM) - FSDM07652RB. Is anyone able to confirm/deny?

I checked the service manual, it doesn't have any info about the powersupply. But chances are you'll find more blown than just that IC. It might be easier to have a look on ebay for a refurbished or new powersupply.

FSDM07652RB, confirmed from schematic. Is that where you got it from?

Also these caps can go to.

    Circuit Reference
    CM807 1000UF 25V
    CM808 1000UF 25V
    CM809 2200UF 10V
    CM811 1000UF 10V
    CM812 1000UF 10V
    CS806 1000UF 10v

I've also read of an EEPROM on the main can get corrupted causing endless restarts.
    Brief quote from a bulletin.
Eeprom value in Factory setting change when SMPS failure (side effect)

Also versions 134C and 134D appear to be substitutes.

    mickstv - Thanks for checking.

tw2005 - I managed to find a schematic on google and traced it back, not sure if it was the same one you have linked but it's similar - The caps look good (not bulging), so I will replace this icm801 and see what happens (I've bought 5 off ebay, so if it goes bang again I can keep searching! - They are coming from HK, so might not have an answer for a week). Thanks for confirming.
