It is now on Measat 3 91.5E

    DVB-S2
    3920V 29720-5/6
    8PSK

Note you will need a Mpeg4 Sat Receiver and most likely a bigger dish as Measat 3's footprint is nowhere near as strong as Asiasat 5's, at least in Perth anyway

yes its on there it scans in as REDE RECORD

There are also a lot of Powervu channels on that Freq not listed on lyngsat. Too bad encrypted.

I can pick it up on a 1.8m solid here in Taiwan.

Same with any fta channel you cannot know if it will encrypt or not.

Yeah ... The semi-good news is that it's 34dBw EIRP around Sydney and Melbourne, therefore similar to AsiaSat 3S. The bad news is that it's 8PSK, so you need a higher signal-to-noise ratio (lyngsat shows C/N lock at 9.4dB) than previously with QPSK (lyngsat showed C/N lock at 5.5dB). In other words, signal is down by about 3.5dB (around Sydney and Melbourne) yet you need about 4dB more due to the higher modulation, so that's a net 7.5dB worse off (around Sydney and Melbourne).

    Joe.

PS. Actually, there's another 0.25dB lost due to Measat 3 being a little more distant and about 7 degrees lower, so that's nearly 8dB worse off.

Default Rede Record on Measat 3

I've tuned my STR 4930 to Measat 3 and try to pick in partcular the new Rede record (Brazilian channel) FTA and using a 2.4 m mesh which recently moved from Asiasat 5 and I seem to get all transponders, some with quality 65% and no problems. Although I get a quality of 65% on this channel as well, it shows red. Is it possible that tp 11c is weaker than the other transponders on Measat 3? Can anyone here in Perth, Western Australia or in other states give me some help?

Sadly, you're even worse off than those of us in Sydney and Melbourne, see :

Also read my previous post about how the modulation and FEC used on TP 11C means you need a greater C/N margin than previously on AsiaSat 5.

Thankz j_ds_au. Although that been correct, I can pick up Sky Racing which uses 8psk modulation and can not receive Record USA with the same modulation type. That's the reason I sort of implied that this TP 11c is weaker than the rest!? Perhaps, as you mentioned, I should indeed go for a larger dish. I just wanted someone to confirm if they are capable of receiving this channel and if so, the size of the dish used so I don't waste money on a new one.

Although modulation for Sky is also 8PSK, its FEC is 3/5, compared to 5/6 for Record. See :

So if you compare their respective lock C/N requirements, Sky is 5.5dB whereas Record is 9.4dB. Which means you need to find up to 4dB more signal (while keeping the noise down) to receive Record.

Note, many of the other transponders on M3 (on the above page) show C/N lock at 5.5dB with FEC as 3/4. This is incorrect. The C/N lock requirement for DVB-S2 8PSK with 3/4 FEC would be 7.9dB.
