Default Diverticulitis isn’t anti-nut any more

There was a thread about Diverticulitis a few months ago, new developments.......

    Diverticulitis isn’t anti-nut any more

Physicians have long warned people not to eat nuts, popcorn, and corn if at risk for diverticulitis, a condition where small pouches develop in the colon. However, a new study says such a warning is nutty; in fact, it’s just the opposite: eat all you want to lower your risk.

I was always told to eat anything green, wholemeal anything, and nuts... (anything to do with fibre) having been operated on 4 years ago and then diagnosed with diverticulitis. I had never heard of it before. But was told that it is very common, something like 98% of people over 50 have it. (i'm no where near 50!!)

I guess poor diet is what lead me to mine, gut ache for months and months, reflux, drinking milantor (spelling) by the litre. I thought it was just stress from work.

1 week in hospital, remove appendix as thats what they thought was the cause, tubes, etc etc NOT PLEASENT at all..

I ditched my stressful IT job, and decided to get healthy instead.

now all i want to do is have a sh1t kicker job, near a beach, few friends, a girl and be happy. oh and be healthy!!

edit: I still have a few vices that I shold not do!!! dam it...
If you feed ducks at a pond, chances are your bound to feed a goose or two without even knowing it.

Talking Straight from the horses mouth !!!!!!

    G'Day,
There are statistics, damn statistics, and outright mis-representation.
You can use statistics to prove your own pre-conceived conclusions.
I lived on Quickease and other related junk for 50 years. Reflux etc.
No more probs when put on " Somac " about 2 years ago, with only one hiccup. When they went out of stock for about a week, used " Zantac ".(Over the counter). Symptons returned until went back on " Somac ".(Script only)
On PBS, only about one sixth the cost of "Zantac".

Kindest Regards, " The Druid ".

This treatment seems to be relatively new.
    A good link here;

Or just google " Somac ". A plethora of links.

Very Best Wishes, " The Druid " (I knew my Celtic ancestry would come in handy one day.)
