Where do I get my T. B. Bechtel for PM sticker
We dont always get the TRUE or un"SPUN" story here in the states, so is this ACTUALLY what was said?
Australian Political Correctness
An example to British politicians and the judiciary alike. T. B. Bechtel, a City Councillor from Newcastle, Australia, was asked on a local live radio talk show, just what he thought about the allegations of torture of suspected terrorists. His reply prompted his ejection from the studio, but to thunderous
applause from the audience.
HIS STATEMENT:
'If hooking up one raghead terrorist prisoner's testicles to a car
battery to get the truth out of the lying little camelshagger will
save just one Australian life, then I have only three things to say:
"Red is positive, Black is negative and make sure his nuts are wet".

A great story but repeated elsewhere on the web with subtle differences.

T. B. Bechtel, a part-time City Councilman from Midland,TX, was asked on a local live radio talk show, just what he thought of the allegations of torture of the Iraqi prisoners. His reply prompted his ejection from the studio, but to thunderous applause* from the audience.
'If hooking up an Iraqi prisoner's balls to a car's battery cables will save one Texas GI's life, then I have just three things to say,
'Red is positive'
'Black is negative'
'Make sure his balls are wet.'
* I think it may be possible that 99% of our forum readers, like me, are applauding that sentiment (while disagreeing with Torture).
A classic. Well said T.B. Bechtel.
Fiction. And I come from Newcastle, Australia, so I know
You will find on balance, most Australians are tolerant.
We believe in a 'fair go' as long as your willing to 'pull your weight'
Like any other country, we also have our share of rednecks.
Unfortunately, they tend to be a rather vocal minority and can sometimes tarnish us in an unfavorable light.
A Google shows the same name & statement, but from Midland, TX, USA....
The irony of patriotism / racism in Australia is the best any of us can claim to have been is just over 200 years, with the exception of Aborigines....
Another can of worms for some people. Fact is some are great, many are normal, some have problems & some cause problems - Like any other group has their share troublemakers & bludgers
Reality is an invention of my imagination.
