Why on earth would anyone vote for a party that has a policy that claims to address climate change, when the leader putting forward the policy doesn't believe the science himself? It's a bit like being lectured by a boozy, chain smoking doctor. Not that I like the other mob any better. Their EST seems to favor polluters & wants to compensate them ![]() And they both want a 5% reduction by 2020 - Thats not even trying! What a waste of time

Rep Power: 28 ![]() ![]() ![]() | LOL I was thinking the same thing, the Libs dont really have an ETS, they cant have one because we all know that Abbott only believes in one thing.

Rep Power: 7 ![]() | If you're still sitting on the fence on this one, and have an open mind, you will find this program might be of interest to you. It's about to start about now: Lord Monckton speaks about Climate Change at the National Press Club 9.34pm AEDT It's on the a-pac channel on Foxtel or watch it live on a-pac's website. |

Rep Power: 13 ![]() ![]() | While Abbott my not be convinced, at least he is giving the electorate an alternative. You may not like it or believe it will do nothing but it is an alternative. He has put more than enough pressure on Labour to explain their policy and give us a reason why it isnt just another tax. At least we seem to at least get an answer to a question from the opposition. The whole Labour party seem convinced that answering a question with a pre-written response and dodging the question completely is the way to go with Rudd being the worst. Watch any interview with him and he will come out with one of two things - either he will say " Let me just say this....." or ask himself another question that he has a prepared answer to. |

Abbott to his credit ( and not always to his benefit ) at least has the balls to answer a direct question put to him. Gillard was an absolute disgrace this morning , Laurie Oakes continually asked her to answer the question and she still wouldnt. All she would come up with has a rant against Abbott and a spiel about how great the government is. Its about time political commentators really started playing hardball with politicians doing this. We elect them , they have to be accountable whether they like it or not. And if that means losing some of their popularity , thats their problem to deal with. The fact that Labor cannot and will not provide answers to questions is at last finally starting to backfire on them. |

Rep Power: 4 ![]() | i would vote neither as well if it were a choice. i'd like to vote labor but i can only see it costing me $$$, and i think that tony abbot is a complete wank. either way, it won't make a dot of difference, i think that climate change is going to happen regardless of an ets or not. It may just be how we adapt to it that becomes the reality and determines how we as people live in 100 yrs time. adam |

Rep Power: 5 ![]() | How else they gonna get all those hand outs and all that a-z of stimulus money they doled out back into the treasury coffers, hmmm ?? Just as they treated us all to that hat trick of interest rate rises begining the very first tuesday after the FHOG was scaled back October 1st, this is yet just another in a long line of cynical rorts to seperate the sheople from their hard earnt $$$. Beauty of it all is, most seem more than happy to pay ! They'll even vote him back into office, lol. Global warming, in how it's currently being portrayed, is a rort: The planets been heating and cooling in cycles for millions of years.. Vikings were growing crops in Greenland back in their day.. Even now Europe's had one of their coldest winters ever and you're getting record snow dumps in China and the States, culminating just this weekend in Washington DC.. TPTB just need to raise $$$'s to shore up the "GLOBAL" financial mess they've helped create. We've had the tech bubble, stock market bubble, now we're entering the final stages of the real estate bubble, so now they want to introduce us to the eventual thrills and spills of the upcoming carbon trading bubble... Think of that in 12 - 18 months time after the SHTF and we're in the mother of all recessions/depressions and you've lost your job, your income, or worse both, and are having to pay through the nose for all this gobbledegook, aka green taxes & the like. Still, they gotta get the money from somewhere, at least this way every man and his dog'll feel good i spose, and all this altruistic mumbo jumbo should serve to keep everyone off the streets - we hope anyways.. If Kev's crew gets this through, good on em. Wish i could be as cynical as they are. Oh, i wouldn't vote for either, but if i had to, i'd vote for Abbott.. But this is the third time, so look for Liebor to do some backroom sweetheart deal with the greens or should that turn to dust, most likely we'll be treated to this very probable double dissolution the talking heads on tele are on about, the one in which K Rudd will get voted back in so we can all line up and "do our bit" by paying for this smorgasbord of new green taxes ASAP. So pay up everybody and feel great !! :-) Last edited by bureaudechange; 07-02-10 at 08:31 PM. |
