eftpos bank statment as good as a receipt?

i bought a pushy last April and about last Nov the pedal stuffed up and ever since then ive been trying to get it fixed on the cheap but not really doing much about it.
today i actually remembered that the bloody thing is less than 12 months old so should automatically come under warranty (i assume)
i had a bit of a look for the receipt tonight but cant find it, its gotta be round here somewhere but i have moved since i bought it so could be anywhere.
i checked my online statements to see if i paid credit card or eftpos and the shop name and payment come up in my eftpos payments for last April so im asking is that as good as being done on a credit card so therefore as good as a receipt?

somestores will take it
myer, david jones etc.

private stores not so much i wouldn't think.

Might be worth using the transaction date / time to try and get a pre-print of the original receipt.

Surely all you need is proof of purchase - which you have. If you have any trouble give consumer affairs a call and ask them.

osiris777 we had a similar problem a while back, lost the damn receipt.

Printed out the bank statement with date, store and amount and they looked it all up in store.

So yea should be ok.

Some retailers will not cover you simply by a bank statement as they will say how do we know that amount of money on your statement was for said product.
And you will find that they have the loop hole to get out of it, as all there documentation and receipts state retain receipt for warranty, no receipt = no warranty.
