Default Ebay ripper and help in Weribee

    okey dokey
this seller 2011sarah181003 (Sarah West) has decided it was a good idea to rip me off on ebay.
Now I was offered a second chance on some dolls my daughter wanted and I took her up on the offer. Stupidly I agreed to direct deposit outside of ebay at her request to make things roll quicker. I only agreed to this as her feedback is good.
    the total is $125.
Since she has recieved the moolah there has been no return emails regardless of how many I have sent her, none have been nasty as yet as I know shit can happen.
I have her bank details and postal address (thanks to someone she bought off on ebay)
I was wondering if someone could supply me a ph number (via pm of course) or if someone lives in the Weribee area if they could do a door knock and politley (yes politley) ask what is happening.
I will supply address details via PM if someone can help.
Also ideas and information about any other avenues I can take to get my money back

    thanks all

no I could not leave feedback as the transaction was done out of ebay, it was for the same items though plus one more. overlooker left that feedback about 3 days after I did the transaction

I got her address details of an ebay member in the UK who had sold her something. Another Australian based seller replied as well saying it was the third contact he had had in a fortnight about sarah

It sounds like she might have done a runner after selling the same goods multiple times

I plan on ring my bank today, as well as hers.
if I can find a phone number matching the address I will ring personally as well. Be nice to find some other email address's as well.
anyways off I go, back in a few hours

Have you used the request contact info feature on eBay?

You need to quote a transaction number (auction number) but as I understand it, you had a legit eBay second chance offer but only the payment was made outside eBay?

1.Click the Advanced search link at the top of most eBay pages.

2.In the Members section on the left side of the page, click the Find contact information link.

3.Enter the user ID of the member and the transaction's item number.

Member info contains an address (often a PO box though) and a phone number.

I take it then that the 'second chance' offer wasn't through eBay? eg: she just contacted you to do a private sale off eBay?

Otherwise, you would still have had a transaction recorded on eBay.

    Sanity,

You can only use an item number to obtain contact info if it was for an auction you were involved in (as a buyer or seller) with the other party.

    ozchips,

If you have contact with someone else who completed a transaction with the seller, they could check on her contact info for you.

It's technically against privacy rules..... but so is ripping people off.

I've had the need to use methods such as those to contact people in similar circumstances.

Better tread carefully. It could be a hi-jacked account. There was a period of 5 months inactivity before the recent problem sales. That's a classic trait of a hi-jacked account. Scammers/hackers like to target inactive accounts with good feedback history. Once they crack the ebay password, they can substitute an un-traceable email address. They may or may not bother changing the postal address since it is irrelevant for sales.

The legitimate account owner may be completely innocent and unaware of the scam. I'm not saying that is the case in this instance but the possibility needs to be considered. Also some of the blame must fall on yourself for attempting a shonky deal outside ebay.

coldamus, I am fully aware that may have happened, but it is doubtful. (as somone else managed to get a refund on the same goods)
I do take blame for the deal as well as you can read from my first post. I stupidly agreed to direct deposit.
