    Default QLD State Election

Who are you voting for QLD'ers ? I find it hard to believe Bligh is even a chance, QLD'ers seemed to hate her until the floods happened. Now she seems to be in favor again. Labor also seems to be getting good value out of their "dirty tricks" department who have succeeded in installing negativity against Newman.

I thought this was interesting...things have changed a tad...

I wonder if the gutter tactics have turned things around for Newman as people get sick of it. I know both sides of politics resort to them when things are bad, but Anna Bligh has been particularly scummy this time around, living up to her nickname..."toxic".

diryt tricks or not Newman is a joke and and he has not answered a single question about the dirty politics, elections are laways bring out the dirty washing imo.
He originally said he had no investments nothing, now he says he will sell them off if he becomes premier ?
I am far from a fan of bligh, but the LNP as usual up here have no policies, they are just relying on the fact that we are all sick of th4e current government.
I ma pissed off that Newman will not say who will be premier if he does lose ?
I reckon he will scrap in by preferences even though he has said he will not use them.

The above poll was also taken using preferences from the last election, things are really a lot closer than they seem in Ashgrove.
If the LNP get in all well and fine, but I do not want to see Newman as premier he was a frikken joke as mayor of brisbane and his true colour have been showing through. bob Katter is looking good to me atm

I believe you mean everything you say except that last sentence......

As for Ashgrove, I only put the link in there because from what I had read he was already a cooked goose.....

How do you name an alternate premier if you don't know who has been elected, or do you have to pick a safe seat and choose one of those?

you knowthe biggest issue I have with this election is I do not like to waste a vote, I think all votes are important.
However I do not like Bligh, I detest Newman but should I vote against my local member who has done nothing but good things for his electorate ? I honestly do not have any gripes at all witht he incumbent.
Shouyld you vote against someone doing a really good job just because their leader is a incompatent ?

i did mean to put a rolleyes icon after my bob Katter comment though

you are not voting for bligh or newman, you are voting for the party they stand for, and if ppl vote for the good hairdoo that someone wears, the country is stuffed.

again why I what I said in my last comment mango, the guy down here has done a great job, should he suffer since his party is shithouse and the person he represents sucks arse ? As far as getting things done and accountability this bloke has been spot on. The other main fella is well, I will leave it at that and the independant has her head in fairyland promising half price rego, power, petrol etc.

I am very undecided on my vote still, as I want to reward the incumbent for his good service, but I do not want to reward the party and leader he represents.

what are others thoughts on this on how a vote should be assessed ? ie main focus should it be party/leader, or member for area vote (who we are in fact voting for)

Yeah I understand where you are coming from. With me I don't like the member in my electorate but I want to vote for the party this member represents.

I cant believe some of the debt these state governments are running up. On top of Swan's 150 billion plus effort federally that is. When we eventually go BOOM we are also going to go BUST.

QLD - $84.9 billion by 2014/15, resulting in $5.1 billion in interest payments each year, or nearly $100 million a week

In latest news, Labor are attacking Newman's family and inlaws over financial matters and the Lib's are set to get some ammo after the Damning Dam report.

Normally I don't give a damn about politics, but... I INTENSLY hate the local liberal member. Knew him from school days and there's just no way I would vote for that psycho even if my life depended on it. So I'm voting for the other bloke. Don't even know how it is, but if it stops this other #&^% from getting in, so be it.

A bit off topic, but it looks like we may be getting Pauline lease explain" Hanson moving on down here. Her daughter lives in Hobart.

It is also believed that she may have another tilt at polotics!!!.

OT, If I were in Qld I would probably vote Labor. Bligh did a good job during the floods and cyclone.

I only know about Newman from what I read & see on the telly. I don't like him.

It is said that an informal vote is a wasted vote but so far I haven't seen a candidate of any persuasion who deserves my vote, all a pack of "starts with W and ends with ankers" so informal it may have to be.

Yep, it's a terrible shame that this sort of shit happens.
The choices, and that's State AND Federal, are piss poor.
Would be a great time for some new party/person to come to the forfront and have a go.

ANY politician could have pulled off what Bligh did during the floods......what did she do besides a couple of flowery speeches and some teary camera shots? I'm sick of her getting credit for the floods, when everyone seems to forget that she SOLD ALL OF QLD'S SHIT before that!!

If Newman was so bad and corrupt, he'd be in gaol, would he not??!! And wasnt he just cleared a couple of days ago by the CMC of any wrongdoing, yet it was found out that one of the investigators had links to the Labor party? Investigate Bligh first I say....she's in much more need of a much larger cobweb brush IMO.

Not to mention the "hypocrite" title Bligh is currently wearing.....shouting from the rooftops about corruption in the LNP while she quietly forgets to mention good ol' Gordon Nuttall......
