Good.
Good.
ebay has always had the power to pass on that sort of information to the ATO , now they are sending same details to Centrelink.
i'm all for bringing down the dole cheating scum.
So you sell $10,000 worth of items then open a new account...
But the banking and other details which are needed to receive payments have to be provided to ebay anyway. One way or another you will have to identify yourself to ebay and then it's only matter of putting things together to determine the total sale.
Dole cheats need to go to trading postfrom now on.

About bloody time
there are more dole cheats sitting on their arse that wont work than e-bay sellers.
Remember what the rich people say:
Buy cheap and pay often, - there is no substitute for stupidity.
You wipe your bum after each crap, why don't you clean your teeth after every meal?
There is no shame in being uneducated nor in being stupid.
The true shame lies in knowing that you are and doing nothing about it.
Only the living worry about dying.
The ATO has been checking sellers for years now, Gold power sellers are the closest and regularly watched however the ATO has the ability to check anyone if need be and eBay hands over information willingly to them.
Knowing that Govt agencies cooperate (i have 2 lawyers in the family that have Govt jobs in different disliked areas that cross check peoples finances and business dealings as a daily part of work), i would not be surprised, in fact more surprised if they didnt share information with centerlink.
Welcome to a cashless society where every cent can be traced.....
And believe you me they thrive on catching cheats, its a adrenalin rush for a person with a boring desk job.
I even heard that the amount of cars owned and when bought, sold and how much for is regularly checked during a nosey with the Road Traffic Authority if needed.....that can all be traced back to the persons bank accounts, tax returns, wages, center-link payments etc, if they want to examine you they will, if you have cash and your hiding it, they will find it and question it.
The closer Govt agencies are linked, the harder it will be to hide money.

If you try and log onto to the Centrelink website it asks if you want to be linked up to all government agencies. Of course Centrelink and the ATO are in bed together, along with quite a few others. You can run, but you cannot hide!
