And when I reply to a post, I cannot find a thanyou button, on that screen either.
The only thing I have is a "add to reputation" button on the lower left of each post, but that only adds to the poster's aura.

Maybe junior members cannot thank (to stop abuse of the system, or something)

This site seems to have a special order code, for sling shots to Australia.

I don't know if they get through NSW customs though.

There is no separate customs for NSW.
This is the Australian site that I was referring to, there may be others.

Well, it would seem you did not have a mis-spent youth.

The bane of sparrows and other fawna, as well as the neighbours that dared to come within range. Many a family pet also suffered the indignity of a stray shot.

That may be the answer as it's not there as a visitor.

Probably designed into the system, to stop someone easily creating a new fake member, then thanking themselves a lot, or something.
I don't know.
Anyway, its not important, I can live without it.

According to the website, their address is
24 East St
Ipswich, QLD, 4305

I wonder if their goods are posted from Australia (and not Hong Kong, or somewhere).
Its unlikely that Australian post would be checked as much, you would think.

Ummm... ok. Now that I've taken my ...err.... gynocological device... apart into it's respective legal pieces I have to laugh because I know I saw the ...err... parts sold at my local gun shop. I'm going to have to call in once again and just make sure that I'm not on drugs, or that if I am on drugs, that my dose is upped a little.

Home made slingshot is legal ... hmm... so if I put the pieces back together ?

I had to visit my local constabulary a couple of years ago about some licencing matters and I found myself staring at the poster of "prohibited weapons" and doing the Beavis and Butthead laugh ... "hnr hnr hnr .... Tdhis is coool !"
The guy on duty couldn't help himself and was trying not to laugh.
I told him, "We should steal this poster ... it is too awesome for this wall "
When he came back, I had taken it off the wall and rolled it up. I asked him for a rubber band. He got one and then as he handed it to me noticed the poster was missing... errr.....WTF !!! Oh ok, if you want it that much that you can keep it ! The only people who see it are probeys and it's probably better we don't advertise to them.

oh anyone interested, the ebay 10 pack of rubbers and leathers attached came no problems. My sling don't have the arm brace and i think it originally came from a fishing shop as a 'burly dispenser'.

I have a feeling that detaching the rubber from the frame, doesn't make it suddenly legal.
If you have a AK47, and just took out the firing pin, would the police say, thats OK (if they saw it) ? I don't think so.

This is about the only, Australian based, ebay seller of slingshots

They say:
PLEASE NOTE - THIS LISTING IS FOR QLD RESIDENTS ONLY !
WE CAN NOT & WILL NOT POST TO ANY OTHER STATE

And I think they know what they are talking about.
The local state laws are what is important.
I think that is why the site links to all the state legislation - to cover themselves.

Thanks for that info.
(By the way, my thanks buttons, have suddenly appeared, for some reason)
I think I will just order some rubbers and try to bodge my own frame together.
