| Junior Member | I have a no name GPS bought on ebay a couple of months ago. It looks very much like a Supratech GPS. It has Smart2go which seems to be on the flash memory internal, and route66 on the SD card. My PC (XP) does not recognise it with active sync. I have tried to access wince ( I believe it has 2.0) to see if I can use different Nav software but don't seem to be getting anywhere. The SD card has a cities folder with Aus maps, and Mobile Navigator, but no sign of Smart2go, so I am trying to find a way into wince. Can anyone suggest how I can go from here, any clues would be appreciated.

| Banned | There are many advantages to this version for the Gizmondo: * It doesn't require a cursor even for address input * It works with the existing Uk maps * It seems to run fairly stable. Constant 8-10 sats with cradle * Roundabouts are roundabouts and not traffic circles * Bigger view of road. Less screen clutter _____ jackspar. Last edited by ssrattus : 01-10-08 at 02:10 AM. What do you mean by 'more information'? Laurie mentioned that he could not access WinCE, and was asking for help on how to access the internal filesystem to see if there were any clues to help install other nav software/maps. At any rate, I think my post here helped, which didn't require modifying anything outside the SD card. mke68. | |

| Junior Member | HiI asked the following question at ppcwarez, but they are down more than they are up, so I am posting the question here. Have anyone using smart2go or the kogan equivalent noticed a problem with the distance of the calculated route? I live in Hervey bay Qld Australia and I have the following problem with smart2go: All distances are approximately the results i got as I do not have the GPS in front of me at this time. If I plot a route to Brisbane I get distance approx 300km, and this coincides with IGO8, R66 & TomTom V7.54 which I also use. A trip to Sydney gives a similar result from all programs. Plot a route to Pt Pirie in SA and smart2go says distance approx 1600kms, the other 3 programs give distance of approx 2400kms. Checked smart2go wasn't set to miles, but when I changed setting display showed approximately 900 miles. I have driven the shortest route many times and it is 2400kms, not 1600kms. It appears to happen once the distance exceeds about 100kms or so, has anyone else had this problem and are you aware of a fix? Thank you gordonwh40 |
