Looks like this is an older version than the v700.1491 posted earlier. The latest v705 maps are smaller in size and file older date than the previous v700 version. Australia_Map_v705.1485.rar - 79.3mb (94.2mb) 27/5/2007 Australia_Map_v700.1491.rar - 91mb (116mb) 28/9/2007 anybody want to confirm this is the case?

| Junior Member | The 705 map apparently comes installed with the new tomtom v3. It also has safety cameras but smaller POI files. I have used both maps and cant see any difference yet. Some of the dat files in 705 are slightly larger. If you apply the "enabling method" in an earlier post on 705 you will also enable the safety cameras but you wont be able to update them via tomtom home. At the present time I am using 705 maps with the POI's from 700 and the safety cameras. |

Did he upgrade to v7 navigator firmware before attempting to install the v7 maps? If not that may expalin why his TT failed to work properly when he tried to use v7 maps.

| Premium Member | I did an update to whatever the lateset software is on tomtom home and then updated the map to v700.1491. After that the only way I could turn it on was to have the USB cable plugged in . And yes it was charged... Restored a backup of my SD card and all fine again very weird. Haven't done the udate again yet to chack may have been just a dodgey update ....... |

| Senior Member | All I know is, after he done his upgrade to the new map it was working fine and then after that he went into the tomtom home site to do "what?" He rang me and said my tomtom blowup after going on the tomtom site. I think blowup means it does not fireup, no screen no map no anything. Will talk to him soon for more info |

| Senior Member | OK boys, my good mate has told me after installing the mew map it was working just fine and after going onto the tomtom home site to check for updates the unit started up OK but after the splash screen a message on the screen "NO MAP FOUND" he tried the reset thing, card in, card out on power up still no go. I told him to reinstall the old map and do the new map patch thing. now he is happy again!!! |

| Senior Member | Message Post #10 has all the necessary file downloads and instructions needed to install the maps. Worked fine for me on my ONE XL. Should also work fine on your TT 720. Just make sure you update your firmware (tt browser) to v.7 before installing the new maps, using TT home. |
