Default Garmin g2 vision charts.

Can anyone please give me some information about Garmin dedicated gps units that use g2 vision charts.
All the latest range of gpsmap units can use g2 vision charts containing extras like aerial photos by plugging in a pre programmed SD memory card.
However if you have a copy of the original bluecharts these will not work, yet the g2 vision charts can be made to run on a PDA running XT or a PC using mobile PC. (and of course copied despite the official website saying this is impossible)
So my question is how can bluecharts be made to work on later GPS units?
