Is this version of Destinator for PC? I've tried it on both a Vista and a XP Pro box and it comes up with the same 'Destinator.exe is not a valid Win32 application' error.

The maps included work fine in the Destinator 7 for PC that I have though, but Destinator 7 has that nasty memory leak

No problems,

The maps that are included in your link are working fine in Destinator 7 for PC and also the CarPC software Centrafuse. Centrafuse uses the Destinator core as it's navigation system.

Yeah it can but not for very long.....it has a nasty memory leak however if you shut it down & restart it every 30 minutes or so it will be fine!

I've written a short program to address this issue...it can be found from the link below with a description of how it works etc.

Hey all ive just been playing around a bit and have managed to get destinator 7 with 2008 maps for australia with all cameras etc. installed on my awa x100 Ive hosted the file with instructions on demonoid.

I have a Highway One 350 and I wish to update the software from destinator v 7.024.946 to destinator v8.

I installed v8.0.20.21.1 to the SD card, copied the cracked destcore.dll and installed a newer map.

Everything seems to work perfectly with v8-except the "GPS signal can't be found!"

I checked the files carefully and could not find a Destinator.ini in v8 (unlike v7).

However there was a GPSTMC.ini. which included-

[GPS settings]
;Serial comport parameters. Protocol 2 means NMEA, 1 - SiRF
Port = 1
BaudRate = 4800
Protocol = 2

So I changed the settings (as per my v7 Destinator.ini) to-
PORT=2
BAUD_RATE=4800
PROTOCOL=2.

Everything seems to work perfectly with v8-except the "GPS signal (still) can't be found!

I reinstalled v7 and the GPS signal and everything else seem fine!

Can anyone please tell me how to install v8 correctly?

Or -how to I enable my V7 to be able to use the newer maps from V8?

originally it worked with the settings as

It depends on what your unit uses .Try this setting it probly will work ,did on mine ..

I'm a bit confused because according to the s V7 Destinator.ini (which works fine it is Port 2, but now you've suggested it I'll try Port 1 and post the result!

Thanks also to Benaus- what version does your destinator.ini file run with? My V7.024.946 gave the following-

I an using a generic ,wce 5 ,4.3 in with menu and sddmc card ...

On my other 7in unit it is different it is

Yay- Got V8 up and running. apparently I had to change both Destinator 8 ini AND GpsTMC.ini!

Now I have an all talking Program which also runs "any" map.

However I can't find ALERTS- the POIs are in POI (as you would expect) but now if I select Favorites, all I can see is a menu, 2 large scroll buttons on the right on the bottom "Edit" and "OK". Opening a category doesn't help, as the size of the scroll buttons and font size blocks out the entry details.

(V7 used to have smaller scroll buttons smaller font and button for BACK ALERTS ACTIONS and OK).

Any suggestions on ALERTS in version 8 would be much appreciated!
