Sounds to me like it might be using the Navteq maps, you could go here and grab the maps and try them out on your sytem, couldn't hurt to have a go.

Thankz vk3fffj, i did try destinator but it just froze... thankz to hollowman ur post was very helpfull but still didnt work, i did DL the smart2go on ur post but found it to be a differant version to mine and the maps are the same .. i am happy to keep the same smart2go software but just put newer maps on it .. my maps go back to 2006 it would be nice to have 2009 maps as i have got lost afew time by its directions.

try installing igo8 on it.... read thru the igo8 thread of mine

i did try destinator but it froze at the load screen .. i dont know if im doing something wrong or not.. as for trying igo8 i couldnt find it.. .. if more info is needed let me know and ill see if i can suply it... here is a link to one im thinking of buying for my pajero 99 can someone have a look and tell me if im getting into trouble or if it is a good buy...

hollowman, i did try igo8 but it came up with black screen then came up with a msg saying that it didnt start last time do i want to restart to factory settings Y or NO, clicked y and nothing it came up again then clicked no and same thing happen,, i dont know , im downloading the route66 from ur post and try that, i am following the instructions right but something is not working... are there any new maps out there for smart2go that are not old ones.... i can only find old maps...destinator freezes on the start screen... igo8 doesnt load... i wish this was easy, if it going to be this hard to get new maps i might just go and buy a portable one from the shop as least u get updates with it..

now i have tried route66 and no go... im starting to give up now .. been at this for weeks.. i got afew more to try yet.

a mate told me to go into this .. settings/general settings/about, and it shows .. (4.1.14388 Oct18 2007) if this helps

I have igo8.0.... running on the E0855
Copy igo8 folder to sd card
Copy YFAUTORUN from original card
to sd card and change text to
\sdmmc\iGO8\iGO.exe

i have tried igo8 again downloaded from hollowman the required software and pasted onto sdcard and done the sys.text change as what BIGECB said... it started at black screen and came up with a warning saying, ( it did not start last time do i want to reset factory setting and lose poi,track and settings, YES OR NO ), no matter what i click it always just comes up with the warning all the time... i have had destinator ( from hollowman ) on the gps but it froze at a loading screen...

BIGECB, maybe u can copy ur sdcard and post a download here

igo8.3 from hollowman dosn't want to work on our wince 4.2 units ??
Works fine on wince 5.0 units
im using igo8 R1 series v8.0.044366
and sensis R15 (081027) map
Later versions available from

hope this helps as it takes a lot of reading and testing to get working

i currently have the latest igo 8.3.4 (aug 09) working on my 4.2 right now (mio168)

i was talking about 8.0 R1 versions which maps are not compatible
with 8.3 versions
for some reason i haven't been able to get your 8.3 ver. working
on the eonon gps box, which is seperate to the head unit (cheap chinnese units)
