I'm also interested in changing the menus on my chinese GPS. What I'd like to do is add (or change) some of the icons in the default menu to launch different GPS programs, or MioPocket. I don't want MioPocket to launch by default. Where I can currently launch my navigation program, use the menu's default video player, music player, ebook reader, games, edit settings, etc; I'd like to be able to launch 3 different navigation programs, miopocket, and edit settings.
Unfortunately, my GPS doesn't seem to use the YFAPP menus, so I'm at a loss as to how to proceed.
I'm using this gps:
It's 7", 800*480 res, has a MTK 468MHZ CPU and is running WinCE 5.0. The ROM/APP/System ID's are as follows:

It's factory unlocked (can change navi path, or access WinCE desktop).
The GPS contains a hidden partition '\ResidentFlash2'. Inside this partition are three files 'ARC.BIN', 'BEE.BIN', and 'mtkgps.dat', as well as a folder named 'APP'.
The 'APP' folder contains, among other things, a file 'main.exe' which I believe is the menu system. MioPocket's process explorer identifies the default menu as 'shellex_lyg'.
One of the subfolders of 'APP' is "config', which contains a file named 'FactoryConfig.xml' and two subfolders 'Language' and 'skin'. The 'Language' subfolder contains an xml file for every language, and nothing else. The 'skin' subfolder contains a lot of xml and bmp files, as well as a file named 'Data.zip' that I haven't been able to open.
None of the xml files contains any filenames or paths. I think I can figure out how to change the images and names that come up on the menu, but not where they point to.

How i identify exactly what is this machine? Witch factory made this? And what is the pin order to use it with dvd layer?
And why lagging xvid avi an all video player? MTK too slow?

kmarios, in order to find the right stuff for your device would help alot to have more informations. Open the back cover and post whatever you find there (on sticker & on mainboard).

kmarios, I don't have rom & application for your device, try looking after "728"... In case that you manage to find one, be aware that wince.img IS including bootloaders too, so never select "Update all". Update kernel is just fine. As OS seams to work in your device, I would first try with WinCEApp.img.
