Run already the firmware you posted and forgot to back up my files,
Got the english Windows CE 6 now but my Gps software and map is erase.
Nothing in my GPS now only my windows.
Need to find another software for this.

I´m very newbie in GPS skills.

I´ve got this month this no-name chinese GPS from DealExtreme (SKU.37914 - a 6.0" 800x480 screen with ARM II 500 MHz processor, 4 Gb internal flash memory, SiRF Atlas-IV GPS chipset, 128 Mb RAM, Windows CE 6.0 ENGLISH core) with this ROM information:

Software Version: V3.6.E61.3.17
Platform ID: 5955414E46454E47
Device ID: 0000000000000000

The device is running properly, I run iGO software (either iGO 8.3, iGO Amigo or iGO Primo). Didn´t try other GPS softwares.

My concern is about BACKUP, as we know sometimes (much more than few times), Windos OSes get stuck and so on (I don´t know about Windows CE, but it has an always growing registry, who knows what happens there...).

So, I´ve read all this 38 pages here from "The Chinese GPS Firmware Thread", but I´m very confused how to procede, wich ROM download, how the NDump application works.

Could some kind soul here do some ABC steps for me? I don´t wish to have to put an chinese language in my device... (I´ve already downloaded the chinese image...)

My questions:

How i change the boot logo manga girl? (if i place the logo.bmp to the sd root, dont do anything)
Where i find ROM to replace wince 5.0 to english windows (i dont understand, why Brasil portugal language is the only, and default in win)

Logo.bmp file must be resolution 800x460 and 24bit colors. Logo.bmp must be saved in the root directory. Micro SD card must be FAT16 formatted. Micro SD card's capacity must be maximum 2GB. Insert SD card and press reset.

help.. I bought this 4.3" gps about a year ago from ebay ..having problems running the gps I sent it away to china and it got lost in the post.. 10months later it has been returned to me..
How do I tell what its running on and what version CE it is ..there was no driver disc and windows wont recognise anything except the sd card in the machine

WIN CE 6 ENGLISH ROM for YF GPS

I have downloaded the 2 files to change the chinese to english placed them on the root of an SD card but on starting up the unit as shown item 14 the update fails to start and starts as normal.

Any ideas?

The start up screen on my unit is blue and says GPS Navigation not the winmill & car.

To change logo, create BMP file and save it
logo.bmp , Logo32B.bmp , Logo32.bmp , Logo32C.bmp.
Other ways I don't know and I found that.
