    Default GPS freezes after auto shutdown

    Hi all
    i have a 6inch chinese GPS and it freezes after trying to turn it on after an auto shut down . i then turn it off and reboot and all is good , is there a system text setting to fix it. i am using IGO 8 with a dymka skin which runs from the nand flash. is there a way of reducing the distance when the red light camera warning starts as its annoying when it starts at the 600 meter mark.
    thanks in advance

    try adding

    [warning]
    speedcam_max_lookahead=250

    to your sys.txt for the red light camera problem.

    Hi Snrossi,
    I have a 6" unit and have the same problem with iGO's automatic power down. My workaround using the Megaduck version of the dimka skin was to set up an icon on the quick menu that pointed to the power off program on Residentflash2 - \\Residentflash2\YFAPP\System\PowerOff.exe - different units may not have the same application name or location so browse your residentflash2 in windows explorer to find yours. Residentflash2 is hidden so you have to actually type it in the explorer address bar to see it. This workaround allows me to power the uinit off with a couple of touches on the screen - still easier than reaching for the power button, but I'd still prefer to be able to automatically shut down.

    As for the redlight warning, this is how it is done in Dimka Megaduck, I don't know if it is the same in other versions of Dimka. Menu | Warnings | then click on the ... next to "Speed Camera Warning", and then the ... on the bottom right of the screen. On my unit, all other warnings have "distance control off" but the redlight camera has it on. Click on that, and you can change the distance that it displays the warning, and the distance that it gives an audible warning.

    Hope this helps, and hope we can find a solution to the power problem.

    Some versions of iGO8.3 have this problem it is particularly noticeable using iGO8.3.4 the version with driver alerts. It also seems to depend on your hardware, The only thing you can do is disable auto shutdown and do it manually or using some other method as already mentioned. This problem does not affect Primo or Amigo and most versions of iGO8.3.2.

    hi all
    i have installed IGO Primo and it works great, auto shutdown works and it turns back on great . one question though i read somewhere that it has a function that turns on the unit when power supply is turned on but i cant find where to activate it.

    @snrossi,

    I think this function depends a lot on what hardware you have. I have several devices that will power back up again when power is restored, but one I have won't.

    Cheers, Ian
